Eight original freight doors face Front Street; eight more face the siding. Each of the sixteen costs $25,000 to restore. Together they are the $400,000 that finishes the building — the last phase of a $2,750,000 restoration. 9 of 16 remain.

What $25,000 covers

Full restoration of one original door: timber leaf repair and re-fabrication, period hardware, the stone head and lintel above, and the threshold below.

The plaque

A cast brass nameplate set into the door at the threshold. Your name, or a name you choose to honor. Permanent.

Rail Yard Society is a registered 501(c)(3). EIN 84-3631484. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. A written acknowledgment follows every gift.

How to pay

Check or ACH only. We do not accept cards at this level, so that the full gift reaches the building rather than a processor. Call Leanna Knight at 267-372-4767 to arrange either.

A cast bronze plaque

Each sponsored door carries a cast bronze plaque, mounted permanently at the threshold and engraved with the lines shown. One original 1902 freight door, restored in full, named for as long as the building stands.

Sponsors are also recognized in the building and in campaign materials.
